Desert Express - DBB Desert Express to Windhoek

Desert Express was designed and built in Namibia, and it took 250 000 manhours during a period of 18 months to complete the construction of the train. The workforce consisted of 40 skilled artisans, 3 supervisors, 2 technical superintendents and 2 senior engineers. Where possible, Namibian products and skills were used. Desert Express was launched on 3 April 1998 by the President of Namibia, Dr Sam Nujoma.

Desert Homestead and Horsetrails - Dbb

The Desert Homestead lies three kilometres northwest of the C19 and D854 roads junction, approx. 32km southeast of Sesriem. The wide grassy valley is sheltered by the Nubib, Tsaris and Naukluft mountains with a view reaching the distant dunes of the Namib Desert in the west.

The Hilltop House is located in Windhoek. Original house, which dates back to around 1915, has been converted to contain six rooms. There is also a small pool and garden from which there are views across the northern suburbs of the town to the hills beyond. It is a simple place, friendly and conscientious, but without the facilities you would expect in a more conventional hotel.

The Klein Aus Vista Nature Reserve is situated 2km west from the small town of Aus in southern Namibia, and about 120kms from Luderitz. Eagle's Nest Lodge is set at the foot of the Aus mountains on this reserve, on a 10 hectare farm that borders on the Sperrgebiet.

Kwando Camp

Kwara is located in the remote northern part of the stunning Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. The camp fronts onto a huge floodplain, adjacent to the permanent water of the Delta and is backed by extensive bush. It is a magnificent wilderness area in excess of 1,700 square kilometres, bordering the Moremi Reserve.

Mushara Lodge

Mushara Lodge is situated just 8km from the eastern gate to Etosha National Park. The lodge is situated on it's own 2,500 ha private reserve where a variety of wildlife and birdlife can be found. It is surrounded by the Purple Pod Terminalia tree, from which the name Mushara is derived. The green lawn is occasionally visited by local wildlife.
